OUR EXPERIENCES
Visit us in Lanzarote and enjoy a unique wine tourism experience. Discover a winery with 250 years of history, located in a one-of-a-kind location.
We offer different tours to discover how we've been making wine since 1775.
THE OLD MIRACLE OF A WINERY IN LANZAROTE
The neighboring Timanfaya National Park, like a colossus, takes a nap for centuries. However, one day he unleashed his fury. On September 1, 1730, the Cuervo Volcano woke up and fire emerged from its bowels.
The lava gave way to an unusual landscape and a unique viticulture in the world.
A UNIQUE LANDSCAPE IN THE WORLD
Located in the Natural Park of La Geria, declared a Protected Landscape in 1994, EL GRIFO has been cultivating vines for 250 years in an environment as unique as it is challenging.
This connection with the land has taught us to care for it and to harvest its scarce fruit responsibly.
Today, we reaffirm our commitment to sustainability, with organic vineyards and regenerative viticulture that protect soil health and biodiversity.
INNOVATION, OUR SIGNATURE
Our team carries out continuous research, from studying the adaptation of the vine to climate change and the selection of native yeasts to the aromatic characterization of Malvasía Volcánica.
These scientific projects go hand in hand with the creation of harvest experiences, where we share with visitors the passion and knowledge behind each wine.
In this work, science, tradition, and pasion come together to keep writing the future of wine in Lanzarote.
SUSTAINABILITY
In our winery, we work every day to reduce our environmental footprint and make the vineyard a living ecosystem.
Today, 60% of the energy we use comes from our photovoltaic panels, a true reflection of our commitment to self-sufficiency and energy efficiency.
We have also implemented Oresteo, an innovative system for recovering and reusing the CO₂ generated during fermentation, which allows us to optimize processes and move towards a cleaner, more efficient, and more sustainable winery.
HEROIC WINES
Devastated landscape. Centuries-old plants survive in the aridity. Phylloxera did not touch this land of fire, as shown by the ungrafted vines. Respect for tradition and an innovative spirit: our recipe for making extraordinary wines.
