Tasting notes:
El Grifo Malvasía Lías 2022 envelops us with its freshness and youth. As you bring your nose closer to the glass, intense aromas of mango, pineapple and a touch of lemon unfold, intertwined with delicate notes of orange blossom and jasmine. On the palate, it is light and refreshing, with a subtle hint of fennel that complements its citrus bouquet. This white wine is a perfect choice for those looking for a drink full of tropical and floral aromas in perfect harmony.
Elaboration:
The grapes come from four winegrowers in Tinajo, and were harvested on July 22, 2022. The harvest is manual in 18-20 kg boxes, where they were stored in the air-conditioned chamber until the next day, to be pressed without destemming. The must, after static settling for 24 hours, began fermentation with our own yeasts. Once finished, 30% of the batch was placed in a 500-liter French oak barrel, keeping the other part in tank. The lees are kept in suspension for 7 months, in the barrels the batonage is carried out manually. A blend of both aging is made, then it is clarified and bottled on March 24, 2022 to continue aging in the bottle for approximately 8 -12 more months before going on the market.

What the experts say
The Grifo Malvasía Lías 2019 stands out for its straw yellow color, with light golden tones. Clean and bright. Notes of fresh fruit, citrus (orange peel) and tropical (passion fruit, mango) predominate, as well as flowers (orange blossom, jasmine, violet), fennel, and complex aromas such as flint or flint (phosphorus). The autolysis of the yeasts brings to mind aromas of bakery and yeast, and the aging in the bottle provides nuts, honey and caramel. GOURMET ARCHIPELAGO - October 2023
