On November 8th, the “Sustainable Viticulture” award was presented at our winery to the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV), an event marking the start of the 2nd International Technical Conference on Sustainable Viticulture.

Once again, at EL GRIFO, we are delighted to contribute to the celebration of these conferences alongside the Canary Islands Chair of Agrotourism and Wine Tourism.

On November 7th, we hosted the III Summit of the Macaronesian Archipelagos at our facilities.

During this event, we had the privilege of witnessing the signing of the Honor Book by the President of the Canary Islands Government, Fernando Clavijo, in commemoration of the 250th anniversary of our winery.

On October 31st, the commencement of the 250th-anniversary celebrations of EL GRIFO’s founding was officially inaugurated, marking a year-long celebration throughout 2025.

The event was attended by friends and distinguished personalities from Lanzarote, including Mr. Isidro Pérez Martín, the mayor of San Bartolomé, and Mr. Ildefonso Aguilar, the author of Under the Volcano, which inspires the label of our commemorative anniversary wine. For this special edition, we selected the 2018 Malvasía Volcánica Lías.

Last September, the 32nd edition of the ‘Mondial des Vins Extrêmes’ (CERVIM) took place, the only international wine competition that highlights heroic viticulture.

In this 2024 edition, the highest distinction, “GRAND OR,” was awarded to our Malvasía Volcánica Ancestral Ecológico 2023 and Moscatel Orange Wine 2022. This recognition is a testament to the effort and passion of the entire EL GRIFO team, who continue to demonstrate the excellence of our wines on the international stage.

On September 2nd, we welcomed distributors for restauration of all over Spain to our winery. The visit, which was a great success, was led by Elisa Ludeña, our winemaker, and Clara García (commercial director), with the support of the entire EL GRIFO team.

In July, we begin the harvest work on our estate and those of our winegrowers. This will continue through August, after which we will start the winemaking process for the upcoming wines.

On July 10th, EL GRIFO received the Travellers’ Choice Award. According to TripAdvisor customers, our experiences are among the top 10% of the best things to do worldwide.

In June, our technical team has achieved the certifications ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and 22000:2018 confirming our commitment to quality and innovation.

Our Malvasía Seco Colección 2023 has been awarded the Gold Medal at the prestigious DECANTER World Wine Awards that took place in May.
