EL GRIFO 250 Aniversario Malvasía Volcánica Lías 2018 has been awarded 94 points by the prestigious British critic Tim Atkin , one of the international leaders in the world of wine.
This recognition not only celebrates the exceptional quality of this wine, but also highlights the work of our entire team in a particularly symbolic year: 250 years since we were founded as a winery in 1775 .
The wine has been made from a careful selection of Malvasía Volcánica —the most representative native variety of Lanzarote—and aged for more than 30 months on its own lees, which gives it structure, depth and an extraordinary capacity for evolution .
“A brilliant expression of Volcanic Malvasia, with balance, texture, and a delicious salinity.”
— Tim Atkin, MW
This commemorative wine reflects the essence of our unique vineyard, planted among volcanic ash following the Timanfaya eruptions, and our commitment to respectful, resilient viticulture in dialogue with the landscape .
