At El Grifo, we have always believed that our wines speak for themselves — and every now and then, the most influential press proves us right. That is exactly the case in issue 148 of Esquire Spain, dated March 2026, where our Ariana 2024 is handpicked by journalist Alejandro Avilleira in an exclusive feature titled "This Is Truly a Trio of Kings."

In the piece, Esquire's editorial team selects just three red wines from the entire national offering — those that, in their own words, "are not something common" and "shine thanks to a special origin, conveying those virtues in every sip" — and our Ariana earns its place in that distinguished selection.

The publication describes Ariana 2024 as "one of the most award-winning reds from the oldest winery in the Canary Islands," highlighting that the 2024 vintage achieves "the perfect harmony between the native Listán Negro variety and syrah." For us, this blend is far more than an assemblage: it is the most authentic expression of our volcanic terroir on the island of Lanzarote.

For everyone who is part of this winery, founded in 1775, seeing Ariana share a page in Esquire alongside references from DOCa Rioja and DO Ribera del Duero is a source of immense pride. It proves, once again, that the uniqueness of our grapes and our land does not go unnoticed.
