El Afrutado 2020
El Grifo uses Malvasía Volcánica grapes, as well as native varieties that are hardly grown such as Listán Blanco and Muscat of Alexandria grapes, to make this wine. It’s a semi-dry white wine made with native grape varieties from pre-phylloxera vines that are 60-80 years old and grown under a layer of volcanic ash from the eruptions of Timanfaya which devastated the island between 1730 and 1736. Grapes from the Tinajo, Masdache and La Geria areas were used to make this very distinctive and fruity white wine. All the work was done by hand, therefore giving rise to a wine with great aroma potential.
Manual harvesting at the end of July using 20 kg crates. Use of native varieties that are hardly grown on Lanzarote.
